Caleb Matthew Thompson, a 20-year-old male, was last seen alive on December 14, 2022, in Edgewood, Harford County. A week later, on December 21, he was reported missing. The search for Caleb ended in tragedy on December 26, 2022, when he was found at the Mondawmin Metro subway station in Baltimore, having been shot multiple times. Emergency services transported him to the University of Maryland Medical Center's Shock Trauma unit, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation into his death, led by the Baltimore Police Department in conjunction with Maryland Transit Administration police, revealed that Caleb had met with two individuals just moments before the shooting occurred. Surveillance footage from the station captured images of these two individuals, who are now considered persons of interest in the case. One of the suspects was dressed in all black, while the other wore a tan hoodie and glasses.

In an effort to gather more information and bring those responsible to justice, the Baltimore Police Department has offered an $8,000 reward for any tips that lead to an arrest in the case. Despite the availability of surveillance footage and the reward offer, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Caleb Matthew Thompson, and the investigation remains ongoing. The authorities continue to seek information from the public to help solve this crime.
