In the quiet farming community of Pamplico, South Carolina, a horrific series of events unfolded on January 15, 1921, culminating in the death of Leonard Smiley Bigham III and four of his family members. Bigham, a 43-year-old male, was found deceased in the woods near the family home, a day after the bodies of his mother, Mary Madora “Dora” Smith Bigham, his sister, Marjorie Ann Bigham Black McCracken, and Marjorie's two young sons, Leo and John Mack, were discovered inside the residence.
