In the winter of 1993, a 30-year-old man named Robert Montgomery became an unfortunate victim of a crime spree that began with a prison escape. On January 13th of that year, Montgomery, a businessman in Columbia, South Carolina, was going about his work with his janitorial service in the downtown area. His path tragically crossed with that of two recent fugitives, Thomas Treshawn Ivey and his accomplice, Vincent Neuman, who had broken out of a jail in Clayton, Alabama, just days earlier.
