Perrin Richard 'Rick' Love, a 25-year-old police officer with the Charleston Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 21, 1999, in Charleston, South Carolina. Officer Love was responding to a domestic disturbance call when the incident occurred. The suspect had cut the phone lines to the house, prompting a female subject to flee and call for help.
