In the summer of 2009, the life of 15-year-old Jermel Tyler Brown was tragically cut short in Charleston, South Carolina. On June 30, the quiet and well-mannered teenager was fatally shot. Jermel, who attended Daniel Jenkins Academy, was remembered as a loving and sweet-spirited young man who enjoyed playing sports and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated son, brother, grandson, and friend.
