In the late summer of 2010, the life of Sylvester Smart Jr., a 28-year-old Black man from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On August 21st, Smart sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his chest, a violent end to a life that was remembered by friends and family for its vibrancy and warmth.
