In the late summer of 2021, a life was tragically cut short in Lamar, South Carolina. On Sunday, September 12, 2021, Shawnquavis S. Sparks, a 20-year-old man known affectionately as “Shy,” was killed in a shooting incident on East Jackson Street. Born on March 17, 2001, in Hartsville, SC, he was a young father to two sons, Noah Latrell Sparks and Shawnquavis Shyka Sparks, Jr. He was educated within the Darlington County Public School System.
