On a cold Friday night in North Charleston, South Carolina, the life of 34-year-old Kenneth Lamont Robinson was tragically cut short. On January 9, 2015, Robinson, a Black male, was fatally wounded in a shooting that unfolded at an Exxon gas station on Dorchester Road. The incident, which would later be referred to as the 'Exxon station slaying,' left the community searching for answers and a suspect on the run.
