On a summer evening in Hartsville, South Carolina, the life of 31-year-old Rondrecus DeAngelo Peterson was tragically cut short. On June 11, 2016, Peterson, a Black male, was shot and killed in an act of violence that would lead to a swift law enforcement response. The Darlington County Sheriff's Office quickly launched an investigation into the shooting, eager to bring those responsible to justice and restore a sense of security to the community shaken by the sudden loss.
