On a summer evening in Charleston, South Carolina, the life of 19-year-old Jontae Decosta was tragically cut short. On August 4, 2016, Decosta, a young male, was shot and killed in a violent encounter that also left another person injured. The shooting took place near a downtown park, sending ripples of concern through the community.
