In the late summer of 2016, in the quiet community of Easley, South Carolina, a dispute between neighbors turned irrevocably tragic, ending the life of 58-year-old James Kenneth Brazeal. On September 10th, the tranquility of the evening was shattered by the sound of a shotgun blast. Brazeal had been shot in the abdomen, a fatal wound inflicted by his neighbor, Rebecca Barten Smoak.
