In the early morning hours of October 10, 2016, a tragic series of events unfolded at a home on Oak Drive in Belton, South Carolina, forever altering the lives of a local family. Takeshia Conswella Jamison, a 38-year-old Black female, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds inside her residence. The incident, reported around 5:30 a.m., prompted an immediate response from law enforcement.
Beside her was her 47-year-old boyfriend, Jean Cesar, who was deceased from what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services rushed Takeshia to AnMed Health Medical Center, where she immediately underwent surgery for wounds to her abdomen and extremities. For four days, she fought for her life, but the severity of her injuries proved to be too great. On October 14, 2016, Takeshia Jamison succumbed to her injuries, leaving behind a grieving family, including her daughter. She was remembered as an employee of Michelin in Sandy Spring.
The investigation into the violent encounter concluded that it was a case of murder-suicide. The Belton Police Chief acknowledged that officers had previously been called to the couple's home for a domestic incident, hinting at a history of turmoil.
