A tragic shooting in Lugoff, South Carolina, claimed the life of 36-year-old Maliaka Truesdale, a female, and her brother. The incident unfolded on a Thursday afternoon in March 2017 at the Bridle Ridge Apartments. Both Truesdale and her 38-year-old brother, Hannasan McGhie, who was visiting from California, succumbed to gunshot wounds to the head.
Authorities from the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to find the siblings deceased.
A third individual was also discovered with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear to investigators.
The Kershaw County Coroner's Office confirmed the identities of the deceased and the cause of death. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was called in to assist the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office in the investigation of the double homicide.
