In the early afternoon of February 3, 2017, the serene atmosphere of Fern Creek Park in Louisville, Kentucky, was shattered by a grim discovery. A passerby noticed a man inside a vehicle who appeared to be deceased and immediately alerted the authorities. Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the call around 1:30 p.m. and found 19-year-old Cameron Gaines inside the car. He had sustained a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
