Meredith Leigh Rahme, a 28-year-old White female, was tragically killed on July 13, 2017. Her life was cut short in a violent act that stemmed from a domestic dispute involving a woman named Jessica Edens. The events unfolded in Greenville, South Carolina, where Meredith was fatally shot by Edens in the parking garage of her apartment complex.

The motive behind the killing was rooted in Edens' belief that Meredith was romantically involved with her estranged husband, Ben Edens. This belief, compounded by a contentious custody battle over her daughter, seemingly drove Jessica Edens to a point of desperation. In the time leading up to the tragic day, Edens had reportedly sent harassing text messages to Rahme and made disparaging posts about her on social media.

On that Thursday afternoon, Jessica Edens confronted Meredith Rahme in the parking garage of the Main + Stone apartment complex and shot her as she sat in her vehicle. Following the murder, Edens fled the scene with her two children, 5-year-old Harper Edens and 9-year-old Hayden King, in her black Jeep.

A grim discovery was made later that day in the parking lot of a Speedway gas station in Pickens, South Carolina. Inside the still-running Jeep, law enforcement found the bodies of Jessica Edens and her two children. The investigation concluded that Edens had shot both of her children before turning the. 40 caliber handgun on herself in a murder-suicide. The same weapon was used in the killing of Meredith Rahme. As the sole suspect in Meredith's murder took her own life, no arrests were made in the case.
