In the early hours of Labor Day on September 4, 2017, the life of 28-year-old Matthew Rodney Simmons of Moncks Corner, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in North Charleston, South Carolina. Simmons sustained multiple gunshot wounds during an incident that unfolded as a failed burglary attempt.
