Matthew Rodney Simmons, a 28-year-old resident of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on September 4, 2017, in North Charleston. According to the Charleston County Coroner's Office, Simmons died from multiple gunshot wounds during an incident that occurred early on Labor Day. The North Charleston police reported that Simmons was shot in a failed burglary attempt.
