In a tragic turn of events that highlighted the devastating impact of domestic violence, 21-year-old Mya Rae Lee of Seneca, South Carolina, lost her life on May 17, 2018. The young woman died from a gunshot wound to the head inside an apartment on South Stribling Street in what authorities described as a domestic dispute. She was pronounced dead at Oconee Medical Center, leaving her family and community in deep mourning.
