Donovan J. Smalls, a 20-year-old Benedict College student, tragically lost his life on April 14, 2019, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The incident occurred during a house party on Summers Avenue, where a chaotic scene unfolded. According to reports, the party was attended by nearly 100 people when gunfire erupted shortly after 2:00 a.m. Smalls, who was studying electrical engineering, was shot in the head as he attempted to flee the scene and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
