In the early hours of September 2, 2019, a tragic shooting cut short the life of 24-year-old Devon Roney, a male from Columbia, South Carolina. The incident occurred at Club Phoenix on Farrow Road in the Killian area of Richland County. Deputies were called to the nightclub around 2 a.m. following reports of a shooting. By the time they arrived, Roney had already been transported to Providence North East Hospital by private vehicle. He ultimately succumbed to a gunshot wound to the torso.
