Officer Jackson Ryan Winkeler, a 26-year-old officer with the Florence Airport Public Safety Department, tragically lost his life on January 5, 2020. Winkeler was conducting a routine traffic stop at the Florence Regional Airport when he was fatally shot. The suspect, James Edward Bell, 37, was accused of shooting Winkeler multiple times during the stop and then fleeing the scene.
