In the spring of 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in Florence, South Carolina, abruptly ending the lives of two young people and leaving a community searching for answers. On the evening of Tuesday, April 6, 2021, 24-year-old Malik DaQuan Askins, a male, was inside a vehicle when multiple shots were fired, fatally wounding him.
