In the early evening of February 1, 2020, tragedy struck in Summerville, South Carolina, shattering the life of a young man and leaving a community searching for answers. Tahaji Parish Jenkins, a 20-year-old Black male, was fatally shot at the Creekside Mobile Home Park located off Bacons Bridge Road. The Dorchester County Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene at 6:52 p.m. from a single gunshot wound.
