In the quiet community of Greenville, South Carolina, the morning of February 26, 2020, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 58-year-old Mark Rush Jermon. A 911 call led Greenville County Sheriff's Office deputies to Herdklotz Park, where they discovered Jermon's body on the soccer fields. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner, who officially ruled his death a homicide.
