In the spring of 2020, a dispute over money between two men in Columbia, South Carolina, escalated into a fatal encounter. Khamori Davelle Scott, a 24-year-old Black male, was shot and killed on May 26, 2020. His death was the culmination of a financial disagreement with Telvin Quintavis Jackson.
