In the late hours of a summer night in Lancaster, South Carolina, a gathering of friends turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 29-year-old Ethan Dailey. On Sunday, August 9, 2020, Dailey, a male resident of Waxhaw, North Carolina, was attending a party on Evans Drive. An altercation at the party preceded the fatal shooting.
Following the initial dispute, a group of individuals arrived at a friend's home on Crenson Drive where Dailey was present.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., several people opened fire, striking Dailey multiple times in the yard of the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting led to the arrests of seven individuals. Antonio Mickle, 37, and Reno Blakely, 42, were the first to be taken into custody. Investigators determined that Blakely drove Mickle to the Crenson Drive address, where both men, armed with handguns, fired at Dailey.
Further investigation resulted in five more arrests. Kendarius Tyrek Mickle, 20, and Damarkus Tyrone Nivens, 23, were charged with murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. Evidence indicated they traveled to the scene in a separate vehicle, and one of them was armed with a rifle that was fired during the incident. Keisha McDow, 35, who was present at the initial party, was charged with misprision of a felony for allegedly misleading investigators about the identity of the person who fought with Dailey. Shirley Ann Mickle, 65, and Angie Denise Mickle, 45, were both charged with accessory after the fact to a felony for allegedly lying to deputies who were searching for Antonio Mickle at their home shortly after the shooting.
