In the fall of 2020, the life of 18-year-old Tywon Washington, a Black male from Summerville, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the afternoon of November 7th, he was at the Haven Oaks Apartments in Dorchester County when gunfire erupted. He was shot and pronounced dead at the scene at 5:00 p.m. The Dorchester County Coroner's Office later performed an autopsy to officially determine the cause of his death, confirming he died from the gunshot wounds.
