Rodderick Lakeem Sparks, a 23-year-old student at the University of South Carolina Upstate, tragically lost his life on December 21, 2020, due to a shooting incident. Sparks was shot in the back at the Pinegate Apartments on Pinegate Drive, near the USC Upstate campus. He was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m. at Spartanburg Medical Center, just an hour after the shooting occurred.
