Christopher Benton McLeod, a 29-year-old hemp farmer from Carthage, North Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on February 27, 2021, near the Hartsville Regional Airport in South Carolina. According to reports, McLeod and his father, Joseph McLeod, had flown to Hartsville to sell hemp and "flowers," a term often used in the hemp industry to refer to the plant's buds.
