In the late winter of 2021, the community of Orangeburg, South Carolina, was struck by a violent tragedy that claimed the life of one of its own. Donald Lynn Sistrunk Jr., a 33-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on Saturday, March 6, 2021. The incident, which has been classified as a homicide, cut short a life and left a family searching for answers and justice.
