In the quiet early morning hours of November 26, 2016, a violent home invasion in LaGrange, Georgia, tragically cut short the life of 32-year-old Darius Tucker. Masked intruders forced their way into the Edgewood Avenue residence that Tucker shared with his mother, Adrian Tucker. The assailants opened fire, striking both mother and son. Both were rushed to the hospital, but Darius Tucker succumbed to his injuries.
His mother, though wounded, survived the brutal attack.
The LaGrange Police Department launched an intensive investigation into the homicide. Within two days of the fatal shooting, their efforts led to the identification of four suspects. Arrest warrants were issued for Jarvis D. Duncan, 35, of Marietta; Michael Lee Fair, 37, also of Marietta; Gerald Jerome Florence, 34, of Powder Springs; and Lewis Antonio Shells, 35, of LaGrange. The men faced charges including murder and other felony offenses related to the home invasion.
Law enforcement officers moved swiftly to apprehend the individuals believed to be responsible for Tucker's death. They successfully located and arrested three of the suspects: Duncan, Fair, and Shells. However, the fourth suspect, Gerald Jerome Florence, managed to elude capture and remained at large. Authorities also indicated the possibility of another unidentified suspect who may have been involved in the deadly incident. The investigation continued as police sought to bring all responsible parties to justice.
