David Whittington Oliver, a 44-year-old resident of Greenville, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on May 9, 2021. Known affectionately as "Whit," Oliver was an avid cyclist and a beloved member of the Greenville cycling community. On that fateful Mother's Day, Oliver was riding his bicycle near Rocky Slope Road and Sedly Road, just two blocks from his home, when he was shot and killed by another man around 11 a.m. Oliver managed to call 911 before he succumbed to his injuries.
