In the summer of 2022, the life of 40-year-old Stephan Pole, a Black male from Aiken, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the night of July 2nd, Pole and another man, 39-year-old Barry Redding, were found shot to death in a room at the Days Inn on Columbia Highway North in Aiken. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene around 11 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, deputies discovered both men unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds.
