In the summer of 2022, the life of 40-year-old Stephan Pole, a Black male from Aiken, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the night of July 2nd, Pole and another man, 39-year-old Barry Redding, were found shot to death in a room at the Days Inn on Columbia Highway North in Aiken. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene around 11 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered both men unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly led authorities to a suspect. Hasheem Keywaun Rond Glover, a 20-year-old from Salley, South Carolina, was identified as the individual wanted in connection with the deaths of Pole and Redding. A manhunt for Glover ensued, with the sheriff's office warning that he should be considered armed and dangerous. The motive for the shooting is believed to have been robbery.
After a nearly three-week search, Hasheem Glover was apprehended on July 21, 2022. He was taken into custody without incident in the Crosland Park area of Aiken. Glover was subsequently charged with two counts of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. At the time of his arrest for the murders, Glover was also facing other unrelated charges and had a criminal history.
