In the quiet community of Beech Island, South Carolina, a grim discovery was made on the morning of October 17, 2022. A cyclist riding near Spann Hammond Road noticed a man lying on the ground and immediately alerted the authorities. First responders arrived at the scene to find 27-year-old Deandre T. Gaiters, a male resident of nearby Aiken, unresponsive. It was soon determined that he had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
