On the morning of July 5, 2014, a 30-year-old Black male named Christopher Maurice Jones lost his life following a chaotic series of events that began in the municipality of Pine Lawn, Missouri. The incident commenced when a Pine Lawn police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle Jones was driving near Interstate 70 and Lucas-Hunt Road.
