In a tragic turn of events on a Monday afternoon in Pine Lawn, a family argument escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving one brother dead and the other in custody. Wesley Robinson, a 33-year-old male, was shot and killed on June 17, 2024, inside a home in the 3700 block of Salome Avenue. The incident, which unfolded at approximately 4:30 p.m., sent shockwaves through the community.
According to the North County Police Cooperative, the shooting was the result of a heated dispute between Wesley Robinson and his 24-year-old brother. During the argument, the younger brother allegedly shot Wesley, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Other family members were present at the time of the altercation and are reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the younger brother fled the residence. However, his attempt to escape was short-lived as police apprehended him about a block away from the home. Law enforcement officials were also able to recover the firearm that was used in the shooting. The name of the suspect has not been publicly released.
