On October 15, 2014, the life of Kenneth Kindell Jr., a 31-year-old Black male, was abruptly ended in the Walnut Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. On that Wednesday morning, local authorities received a call reporting a shooting in the area, prompting officers to rush to the scene. Upon their arrival at the 5500 block of Thrush Avenue, just south of West Florissant Avenue and near the Calvary Cemetery, they discovered Kindell lying in the front yard of a residence.
