In the autumn of 2014, the life of 16-year-old Zachary Al-Hamid was tragically cut short. On the evening of Wednesday, November 12, 2014, Al-Hamid was found shot in the 4100 block of South Grand Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the male teenager's death led St. Louis police to two suspects.
Less than a week after the fatal shooting, authorities announced the arrests of two individuals in connection with the homicide. The suspects were identified as 20-year-old Farradday Johnson and a 15-year-old male whose name was not released due to his juvenile status.
According to the police, the incident stemmed from a robbery. It is believed that Johnson and the juvenile suspect were attempting to rob Al-Hamid when the fatal shots were fired. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged Farradday Johnson with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. The 15-year-old suspect was also facing charges in juvenile court.
