Jacob Merriman, a 28-year-old resident of Springfield, Missouri, was tragically shot to death on February 13, 2016. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the front yard of a home located at 839 S. West Ave. According to the Springfield Police Department, the shooting stemmed from an argument between neighbors. During the altercation, one of the neighbors, Trevor Brandt, 24, drew a firearm and fatally shot Merriman in the chest.
