African American Edward Crawford, a 27-year-old father known for his prominence in the Ferguson protests, died on the night of May 4, 2017, in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred in the Hyde Park neighborhood near the intersection of Salisbury Street and Blair Avenue.
