In the summer of 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered a Saturday afternoon in north St. Louis County, leaving a community shaken and a young man's life tragically cut short. On August 12th, Evan Robinson, a 24-year-old male, was fatally wounded in a quadruple shooting that unfolded in the 12300 block of Bellefontaine Road. The violent encounter also resulted in injuries to three other individuals.
Responding to a call for a shooting, law enforcement arrived to a chaotic scene.
Robinson was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The incident, which took place in the parking lot of a hair salon, left friends and family grappling with the sudden and senseless loss of a man described as a great father, friend, and provider.
The investigation into the shooting moved swiftly. Within a couple of days, a suspect was taken into custody. Keith Isabell, a 20-year-old from St. Louis, was subsequently charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with Evan Robinson's death. Isabell also faced a count of armed criminal action for his alleged role in the fatal shooting. He was held without bond following the charges.
