Early that Friday morning, at approximately 7:50 a.m., fellow students reported hearing a single gunshot from the second floor of the school.
Police arrived to find Gemesha, and she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Friends and classmates remembered Gemesha as a kind and extroverted person, known for her captivating and contagious smile.
