On November 8, 2017, Dylan James Dean Hedges, a 17-year-old white male from Lawson, Missouri, was fatally shot at a rural residence in Ray County. The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. at a property located on West 202nd Street, a gravel road situated off C Highway. Emergency responders, including paramedics, were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting, but despite their efforts, Hedges did not survive his injuries.
