On May 14, 2018, the life of Clarence Comer, a 31-year-old Black male resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was brought to a violent end in the suburb of Riverview. Comer had traveled to a residence on the 300 block of Scenic Drive with the intention of retrieving personal property from the home of his ex-girlfriend. This routine errand quickly escalated into a deadly confrontation outside the residence, drawing the attention of local law enforcement to the quiet neighborhood.
