On the afternoon of January 3, 2019, tragedy struck the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, marking the city's first homicides of the new year. St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Minerva Avenue around 1:35 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a chaotic scene inside a residence where multiple individuals had been targeted by gunfire.
