On August 27, 2018, the life of Randall Eugene King II came to a violent end in Columbia, Missouri. King, a 31-year-old Black male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex located in the 1500 block of Sylvan Lane. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Investigators determined that the fatal shooting occurred during a methamphetamine transaction that turned volatile.
Law enforcement officers launched a homicide investigation that eventually identified seven individuals involved in the incident. The inquiry revealed that the drug deal had escalated into a confrontation, leading to King being shot. Police actively sought the suspects, issuing warrants and asking for public assistance to locate those who had fled the scene. Over time, all seven suspects were apprehended and faced various charges related to the death and the underlying narcotics activity.
The legal proceedings resulted in multiple convictions and prison sentences for those responsible. Richard Leroy Nole Jr., identified as the shooter, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action, receiving a twenty-year prison sentence. Elijah Lenue Fiore and Anthony William Neill both pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and were each sentenced to ten years in prison. Daria Joyce Lynn Littleton received a nine-year sentence after pleading guilty to attempted delivery of a controlled substance. Mackenzie Cox, who acted as a driver, was sentenced to five years for delivery of a controlled substance. Sarah Marie Davidson was sentenced to five years for possession, while Hollie Ann Johnson received five years of probation for her role involving possession of a controlled substance.
