In the winter of 2018, tragedy struck in St. Louis, Missouri, when Melvin Whitted Jr., a 55-year-old man, was found deceased inside a car. The discovery was made on December 21st in the 6800 block of Berkridge, where police responded to a call and found Mr. Whitted had been fatally shot. The incident was quickly determined to be a homicide, prompting an investigation by the St.
Louis County Police Department.
The investigation into the shooting death of Melvin Whitted Jr., along with other homicides in the area, eventually led authorities to a suspect. Jeffrey Tod was subsequently arrested and faced a series of serious charges, including the murder of Mr. Whitted. In addition to this charge, Tod was also accused in the deaths of two other men, DeAndre Moore and Kenneth Linzie, as part of a wider investigation into multiple homicides that had plagued the Saint Louis region.
