Joshua Q. Eckerson, aged 45, passed away on March 5, 2020, in Bethany, Missouri. His death was ruled a suspected suicide, occurring just hours after a special prosecutor filed three misdemeanor charges against him. Eckerson, who had served as the Harrison County Sheriff since 2013, was found dead at his residence from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
