David Dorn, a 77-year-old retired police captain, was tragically killed on June 2, 2020, in St. Louis, Missouri. Dorn was responding to a burglar alarm at his friend's pawn shop, Lee's Pawn and Jewelry, located in The Ville neighborhood. The incident occurred during the riots that followed the murder of George Floyd. Dorn was shot and killed while attempting to protect the shop from looters. His death was captured on Facebook Live, drawing widespread attention and outrage.
