On Friday, July 3, 2020, violence erupted inside the Quick Stop Market located at 4475 Natural Bridge Road in North St. Louis, Missouri. Steven Joseph Jr., a 25-year-old male, was inside the business shortly after noon when the shooting occurred. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene to find him suffering from several gunshot wounds.
