On the afternoon of July 21, 2020, Robert Clemons Jr., a 28-year-old Black male resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was fatally shot in the northern section of the city. The incident occurred in broad daylight around 1:45 p.m. near the intersection of North Grand Boulevard and Sullivan Avenue. Clemons had just arrived at the location to pick up a food order from the Bing Lau Chop Suey restaurant, a stop that would ultimately become the scene of a violent crime.
